HACKATHON
Hack the 5G City: A new era of city services on 5G
The 5GCity project, in its last year of execution, focuses on live demonstration of 5G services in three cities already going through digital transformation: Bristol, Barcelona, Lucca. 5GCity consortium will be involved in the organization and implementation of the 5GCity Hackathon.
Through our 5G management and orchestration platform and a powerful Service Development Kit (SDK) we offer access to a rich set of primitive functions for network and vertical application services which can be used to programme connectivity with QoS, media acquisition and transcoding, traffic monitoring in the new NFV infrastructures for 5G.
2nd 5GCity Hackathon:
Lucca

Co-located with
ETSI-OSM#8 Hackfest
18-22 November 2019
OSM Hackfests are typically co-located with OSM Plenary. This year they will be hosted by the 5GCity project.
8th OSM Hackfest will take place from Monday afternoon until Friday lunchtime.

5GCity Hackathon will demonstrate, in operational conditions, a distributed cloud and radio platform for municipalities and infrastructure owners acting as 5G neutral hosts. The platform enables to turn a city-infrastructure into a distributed and multi-tenant edge infrastructure by relying on the 5GCity orchestration platform, based on OSM, to manage and orchestrate (NFV + MEC) end-to-end services and creating programmable and on demand network slices.
CHALLENGES
- Virtual Reality applications for Digital Tourism (e.g. in Museums, Theatres, Monuments Sightseeing)
- Prevent vandalism and graffiti on city monuments
- Participatory and Collaborative Media Journalism

Each team will be assigned a mentor who will advise its members during design and implementation. Apart from the mentors, additional experts will be available to provide technical support. After the end of the hackathon, the teams will have to pitch their idea/product and demonstrate their software for evaluation from a jury. Finally, the jury will decide and announce the winning teams
Looking forward to seeing amazing outcomes with innovative practical solutions that reflect your abilities in Concept, Implementation, Presentation and Business plan!
